December Employee Spotlight: Kristen Bender
Job Title: Senior Accountant
What does your day-to-day look like at Crownstone Equipment?
As a Senior Accountant, my day-to-day involves a variety of tasks. I reconcile bank accounts, enter funding for various financing companies, and process equipment invoices. I also provide customer service, helping address any accounting-related inquiries. I recently helped with the transition from in-house credit accounts to IBS. My work is quite diverse, so no two days are ever the same!
How long have you worked in the industry?
I started at Crownstone in November 2020, and this was actually my first experience in the heavy equipment industry. It's been a rewarding journey learning the ins and outs!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my two sons, traveling, and exploring new foods—I've become quite the foodie lately! I also enjoy hanging out with friends, reading, and going on walks.
Do you have a favorite memory?
One of my favorite memories is a trip my boys and I took to Switzerland and Italy in July 2024. The trip was absolutely amazing. From the stunning landscapes to the incredible food, and the charming towns we visited, it was an unforgettable experience and so beautiful!
What is your favorite part about the job?
The best part of my job is that every day is different. I learn something new each day, and I enjoy the variety of tasks I get to handle. It keeps things interesting—I'm never bored! I also like that my role touches so many different aspects of the business, which keeps me engaged and on my toes.
What has the job taught you?
Since starting, I've learned a lot about patience 😊. It's essential in this role, especially when handling complex tasks or working through challenges. I've also realized that being surrounded by dedicated and hardworking coworkers is key to success. The team here has really made the difference in my journey, and I truly believe that collaboration is vital to achieving success.
